Project Description

Artist – Aly Bennett

Aly Bennett is based in the beautiful geothermal lakes district of Rotorua in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Aly and her husband Harm are keen outdoor enthusiasts who relish hurtling around in the forest on their mountain bikes, jumping off rocks into lakes & rivers, and stopping to notice that it’s the little things that make the world go around.

Aly sits in the main driving seat of the business (tightly gripping her whip) with Harm assisting on initial design concepts as well as in the workshop with the hands-on aspects of frame making etc. Aly’s range of native NZ bird designs are printed onto bamboo veneer using sustainable, natural materials.

“We’re very much influenced by the natural setting we live in. We care deeply about the environment and try to tread lightly on this amazing planet earth. The native bird and plant life that inspires our creativity will be seen and heard less if we humans don’t co-exist in harmony”.
